New Software from Elo TouchSystems Provides Touch Compatibility with Windows NT

Elo TouchSystems, the world leader in touch solutions, announces updated touchscreen driver software, MonitorMouse® for Windows NT 2.0. The driver supports Elo’s popular touchscreen and touch monitor products under the Windows NT operating system. All Intel-based versions of Windows NT are supported including version 4.0.

“We originally developed MonitorMouse for Windows NT in response to requests from our retail customers for an NT driver to support public access, point-of-information (POI), and point-of-sale (POS) touch applications,” said Mike Lewis, marketing manager. “This new update easily installs in about 30 seconds.”

According to Lewis, Windows NT is a popular operating system for retail information systems. In an industry where employee turnover is high, adding touch can reduce training time and simplify retail applications.

Elo created an install wizard program for Windows NT—similar to the one designed for Windows 95—that installs the touch software directly into Windows NT. The user simply enters hardware parameters in the install window. The program then completes the touch installation in about 30 seconds.

MonitorMouse for Windows NT 2.0 is available with all Elo hardware. It can also be downloaded from Elo’s Web site (www.elotouch.com/library.html).
